Rule 0: "We cannot be absolutely sure about anything!" - and I'm not even sure about that :-)

Newton: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Similarly, there is Good, Bad and Ugly Innovation.

People sometimes say you cannot do that "it is impossible". It might be, but then again look at all of the following achievements that were said to be "impossible": Fantastic Achievements of the Last 100 Years.

In all aspects, extremes might be too much. It is often better to seek balance.

Many of the benefits you enjoy today are due to science. You might be surprised to hear that science can be applied to anything; and sometimes you can do science yourself! Learn more at: Ted's Guide to Science.

You have a unique attribute: a smart brain. Use it to improve things, and think up new ideas.

Ideas and "creativity" are not innovation!

Here are ten things that seem to make us happy and give us a sense of fulfilment: Positive attitude; Sense of achievement; Humour; Love; Physical pleasures; Bright light (e.g. sunny days) [and for some, spiritual enlightenment]; Beauty; Uplifting music; Adventure, excitement and variety; and Helping others.

The future will rapidly change; and change more than you expect!

Education is a good way to do a workout for your brain, and it might improve other aspects of your life too.

There might be people that are more intelligent than you, richer than you, and more famous than you; but you probably have a pretty unique skill, a gem of knowledge, or good experience that they do not have. Rejoice in that.

Boost your intellect via proxy: smart friends and colleagues; factual web pages and forums; and computer tools and models, and AI.

Are you using your time wisely? Reflect on what is important in life. [See the ten things that make us happy.]

Are you an optimist, or a pessimist? The former attitude can help you to feel good, but the latter might damage your health and wellbeing. However, in many respects, it might be better to be a realist. They can see the opportunities for gain, and plan to avoid potential risks.

Are you drinking enough water? It is good for your body and brain.

Most of us will experience personal disability, to some extent as we age. With that in mind, it is in our interest to provide more assistance for those that are disabled. Here is an idea for a new accessible device.

Earth is probably the most beautiful planet we will ever encounter; yet some yearn for the harsh environment in space. [Though we will have to leave Earth one day (in the distant future).]

We cannot continue to destroy our environment: such action is not sustainable! Here's what we can do with forests [innovative approaches].

Addiction sucks away the life that you might have had.

Develop a good mindset: stay positive [and realistic].

To develop a skill: learn what you have to do; and practice, practice, practice...

What would you do if you did not have a job? It might be worth thinking about that now. (And if you don't have a job, are you enjoying what you are doing?)

Science and technology is probably more advanced than you know! If you doubt that then try this quiz.
